Announcing QAT Publisher 2008
QAT Publisher 2008 will be released on January 16th! This release includes multiple enhancements based on suggestions and requests received from our customers. Check out the details to see how the top 10 enhancements can make your work easier and more productive!
- Enhancement: Support for subtypes
Some customer models make use of Gen Subtypes. This release adds direct support for these Subtypes so they can be included in the view structure and the Gen Action Diagrams generated by Publisher.
- Enhancement: FOP 0.94 is now supported and required
Publisher now supports and requires FOP release 0.94 for PDF generation. This release of FOP is a production quality release with several major enhancements, such as auto-detection (easier font configuration), support for the collapsing-border model in tables, support for named destinations in PDF and a long list of other enhancements and bug fixes.
- Enhancement: Stylevision 2007 R3 and later is now supported and required
StyleVision is the leading visual stylesheet designer for XML content transformation. Although any stylesheet editor can be used, we encourage the use of StyleVision and Publisher includes seamless support with this editor.
- Enhancement: Support for renaming tags
The XML tags generated by Publisher were previously named automatically and could not be modified. This release allows you to give custom names to the tags, making it easier to find and select the desired elements in the XML when editing the stylesheets.
- Enhancement: Support for changing blocks' parent
This release allows a block to be moved up, down, left or right in the block structure. Previously, it was only possible to move the blocks up or down within the same parent block.
- Enhancement: Automatic generation of Apply Stylesheet utility action block
The Apply Stylesheet action block is now generated by Publisher and managed along with the other utility action blocks. This was previously the responsibility of each customer to code and maintain.
- Enhancement: New search features
Search features were added for Entities and Attributes when configuring the block structures in the tool.
- Enhancement: QAT DOM module converted to DLL format
The DOM support in Publisher was changed to a DLL, which significantly reduced the size of the module generated by the user.
- Enhancement: Import/Export Publication
Publications can now be exported and imported. This is helpful when multiple Publisher databases are being managed and customers wish to share the publications across databases.
- QAT Publisher was upgraded and is now a native CA Gen 7.6 application
