Reflections on 2007 at QAT

Hello and Happy New Year from the entire QAT staff!  Well, we’ve been in business for nearly 13 years now and I’ve been proud to reflect back on each and every one of them.  The year 2007 is no exception.  We’ve accomplished a lot this year and worked hard to ensure that we continue to lead the way with ideas and technology that our customers need to drive change in their business.

One of our focuses this year has been centered on enhancing our capabilities to deliver state of the art web applications.  Specifically, we gave the web user interface a lot of attention this year and I’m very pleased with the results.  The QAT WebDaptive product, which is our AJAX development framework, has been the focal point for some very innovative enhancements that will definitely be a major factor in maintaining our competitive advantage.  As we gain experience throughout each year and learn more about how to leverage new technology and techniques, we continuously apply that to QAT WebDaptive.  By building our lessons learned and experience into the product, we also enable our staff and customers to gain from that experience and repeat the success with as little effort as possible.

From a service perspective, we successfully completed multiple web projects this year.  For example, we completed an on-line application for a major bank that is truly state of the art and rivals any web application in the country and certainly in the banking industry.  This application uses an AJAX Web UI and web services all powered by QAT WebDaptive and QAT Flow.  QAT WebDaptive was used to provide the infrastructure for the application, taking care of the details that most web applications lack.  QAT Flow, which is our business process orchestration product, was used to graphically define and execute the business processes and drive the Web UI dynamically.  This allows the customer to dynamically add, change or delete the sequence and/or configuration of each step in the process and gives them significantly more control over the changing business processes than any traditional application ever could.

We also successfully completed the Iowa and California legacy renewal projects and delivered two beautiful web applications using a sophisticated blend of Gen and QAT products and services.  For these applications, we brought a wealth of technology together, including AJAX WebUI, Gen WebUI, Web Services and dynamic data management to produce two sophisticated applications that seamlessly integrate with multiple other applications using disparate technologies and platforms.

In summary, we’ve seen some significant successes this year and we remain confident and excited about what’s to come in 2008.  We’ve affected positive changes in every area of our business and found innovative ways to thrive on the fast pace of technology in this industry.  For me, it has never been so obvious that we must continue to excel at making transitions from one technology to the next and encourage new ideas along with out-of-the-box thinking.  Clearly, these are the elements that drive our success and our growth.  This is also firmly part of our professional responsibility as a leading technology company.

Best Regards,

Rollie Stephens, Vice President
